A reflection of the industry.

There are so many styles and approaches to portraiture. For me, both the beauty and the challenge, is capturing a moment that is natural and true. So my approach is to stand off and wait, using a lens with a longer focal length to retain some degree of anonymity amongst the picture.

 

I shot this worker harvesting incense sticks on the outskirts of Hanoi during a recent trip to Vietnam. Whilst the colours of the incense were incredible, I feel that sometimes an image lends itself more to black and white; it focuses the view, the emotion, and tells a different story...
